Introduction to the studio, the tutors and other students. Demonstration of different drawing styles, materials and techniques. Experiment with exercises in line, mark making, tone and texture. Keeping a sketchbook and developing a portfolio. |
Afternoon |
Look at shape and form, negative spaces, composition and perspective. Drawing 3D objects and still-life arrangements in different media. Experimentation in mono-printing. Critique and group discussion. |
One-day course (beginners): typical programme
Lunch will be served at 1.00pm, and there will be a half-hour break in both the morning and afternoon sessions for refreshments.
